The above thread was one I posted in January, 2010, and discussed the "Reckless Robber",
so called because he did takeover bank robberies by himself, always had his finger on the
trigger of his gun, and pointed his gun directly at the tellers, allegedly holding the pistol
directly to the heads of some. He robbed banks in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and the Dallas
suburb of Farmers Branch.

Well, he is no longer able to fog a mirror.

A 26-year-old man dubbed the “Reckless Robber” who was thought responsible for at least 20 takeover-style robberies around Texas — including one in Farmers Branch in early May — has been identified as a man killed in a Houston-area police shootout.

Mouafak Kazzaz was killed May 22 by Fort Bend County sheriff’s deputies after he robbed a Sugarland bank and began shooting at police when they tried to stop his vehicle. A deputy and a bystander were shot but are expected to recover following what authorities have described as a 20-minute running gun battle last Saturday.

Kazzaz was a United States citizen from Katy, authorities said. He was dubbed “reckless” because he often waved a gun around during robberies.
