They both sound a lot like the people saying we should become cops if we want to carry in schools, while voting, at football games, etc.74novaman wrote:You sound suspicously like another person:Bïlly wrote: Thank you for talking common sense. Nobody except the police and military needs a pistol in public places.

Someone trolling a CHL board. What are the odds?Bïlly wrote:Thank you for talking common sense. Perhaps they are unaware of the various departments' requirements to become a police officer.jester wrote:They both sound a lot like the people saying we should become cops if we want to carry in schools, while voting, at football games, etc.74novaman wrote:You sound suspicously like another person:Bïlly wrote: Thank you for talking common sense. We all have this problem (at some point)... just wait long enough and your hair on top will come to match the beard or it won't be there any longer to worry about!Purplehood wrote: I quit trying to grow a beard. You've never been mugged or raped, have you? Or saved someone who has? Until then, you have a lot of opinion and no facts - but thanks for playing.Bïlly wrote:There's no reason for a civilian to walk around in public with a pistol.
Cool - does that mean you'll buy me a select-fire AK47? I assure you that I have the relevant training and experienceBïlly wrote:If someone wants to strap a gun on their hip they should apply to the respective agencies and go to the respective schools and receive the respective training.
And you don't need that cake you have stashed in your fridge - come on, hand it over - yeah, those pizzas, too. I'm only thinking of your health, after all - doesn't that feel better having someone else making decisions on what you need and don't need?Bïlly wrote:Just like you said. Seriously: it's the Bill of Rights, not the Bill of Needs - and until that changes, you get zero say in telling others what their needs are.

When I was a young lifeguard, my head hair was sun bleached blonde and my beard dark brown, A lady asked why, so I asked her why her hair was two-colred showing a different color at the roots, she said good answer, I get the point, none of my business ..Quahog wrote:We all have this problem (at some point)... just wait long enough and your hair on top will come to match the beard or it won't be there any longer to worry about!Purplehood wrote: I quit trying to grow a beard. You've posted 3 times, 2 of which were related to hunting. You do realize that this board is for CHL holders, don't you?Bïlly wrote:Thank you for talking common sense. You completely missed Oldgringo's point — and he also has a CHL and carries a gun, by the way, and he is not an LEO. His point was that CHL holders should not be presuming to act as police, because we aren't. Most CHL holders, myself included, would probably agree with him. But I know for a fact that Oldgringo would not agree with your interpretation of what he wrote as meaning that civilians should never carry handguns for self-defense. In fact, a number of our members are LEOs themselves, and they would not agree with you either.
I'm sorry if you think this message is inhospitable, but you're the one who joined a forum made up entirely of people who either have CHLs and do carry a weapon regularly, or who have applied for their permits, gone through the necessary steps to obtain one, and are waiting for their permits to come in the mail. This includes the man who owns the board, who is a prominent attorney, a member of the NRA Board of Trustees, and the Director of the Texas State Rifle Association.
This board does not exist to debate the legitimacy of the right to carry a pistol. Every one of us here begins with the presumption that it is a right, and it is legitimate. This board exists to help inform its members about issues, laws, best practices, shooting equipment and techniques, and other items which pertain to the right to keep and bear arms, which shall not be infringed.
You've carved out a position for yourself which is diametrically opposed to the goals of this board. I would be surprised if your membership privileges last.
