HELP!

Post by d.jeffrey »

Well my wife and I sent our packets in 5 weeks ago, and she got a letter today telling her how to check her status. So, I went online to check mine as well. Hers is all green except for the background check. Mine is all green except for the background check and one other area. PASSPORT PHOTO HOLDER:UNDER REVIEW.
Anyone else have this problem? What could this mean? The passport photo holder was only a piece of paper with a box to sign your name in....what the heck? Now at the very top, IN RED, it says APPLICATION: Incomplete, notice sent to applicant.

Incomplete because of a piece of paper with my signature in a box?

With the new online process and without specific info on what the issue is, it's hard to guess. Be patient... you'll receive the letter and it will tell you what's wrong so you can quickly correct it. Most folks on here who have had problems got them rectified pretty quickly and the process then completed. Best luck.

Did you sign the back of the photos?

Yes sir, I signed both photos. The only thing I can think of is that I didn't sign my name exactly centered in the box. It was off to the left , but all of my signature was inside the box. Just don't understand what it could be. I have had a CHL from Michigan for 8 years, so I know it doesn't have anything to do with citizenship or background...............

d.jeffery - My affidavits came back with a notary problem. They had been embossed and not inked. I sent the corrected (re-notarized) affidavits back on the 26th. As of today my online status reads as follows. I'm also concerned about the Passport photo holder.

Application : Received
Fingerprints : Complete
Affidavits : Incomplete, notice sent to applicant
DL or ID : Valid
Citizenship : No documentation required
Passport photo holder : Under review
Photo : Received
Proof of Classroom training : Received
Proof of Proficiency training : Received
Fee : Received
Background Check : Under review
Concealed Handgun License : Print pending completion of application review

Mine said the same thing about the Photo Holder, but the actual problem was with the photos (too blurry, they said). Whatever it is, I'm sure it will be easy and quick for you to get taken care of.

I just checked. Mine reads
License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.
I got confirmation of receipt (from the post office) yesterday, so hopefully I'll see something different soon. :hurry:

I had the same problem, my photo was "too dark". Went back and got new pics, mailed them off and all was well. It did hold my license up for a few weeks tho. Took 2 months to get the plastic in the mail but it was worth the wait.

Sign back of photos

Post by TiffanyinTexas »

They said my picture was grainy. I'm re-submitting different photos. Do I have to take the photos back and have them signed by the instructor. It says photos must be signed on the back by the person taking the fingerprints. My instructor took my fingerprints.

i'm not sure if something has changed recently, or if they accept the photos either way, but i took my class a couple weeks ago and the instructor said they no longer required you to sign the back of the photos. apparently there was a problem with ballpoint pens making indentations in the photo paper and "ruining" some photos. he just had us sign the small envelope that we put the photos in, and i've got a green check mark next to photo and photo holder on my online status so they accepted them that way.
