Adopted a Mini Schnauzer

Post by timdsmith72 »

My wife and I adopted a Miniature Schnauzer from Miniature Schnauzer Rescue of Houston. Those people are super nice and really a pleasure to work with. Made the drive down to Houston yesterday and picked this little guy up. Meet Colby.

Good job. We already have as many dogs as city code allows, so can't do the same.

Awesome dude! I'm going to check them out too... from all the reading I've done, it sounds like that is the dog I am looking for.

Thanks for adopting one and for letting us know. They are great dogs and MSRH desperately need to place more dogs. You wouldn't think the economy would have an effect on the number of dogs they have, but that sure seems to be the case.

Come on folks, with over 6,000 of us in the TexasCHLforum "family" we should be able to take every Schnauzer MSRH is trying to place. If you can't adopt one and you live anywhere in the greater Houston area, please consider providing a foster home for one or more of these great dogs until they are adopted. If you're interested, let me know and I'll PM the contact information.

Thanks,
Chas.

Man, Colby has some big ears -- so cute!!!

We adopted a Standard Schnauzer last month and we LOVE him. He's being a pain as of late, but I think we love him even more for it. They're very bright dogs and such fun to have. I'm looking forward to having our little guy fully potty-trained in a couple of months (he's progressing quickly so maybe sooner!) so that he can join us in the rest of the house and not be confined to tiled areas.

I hope you enjoy your new family member and hope you keep us updated on him!

Best wishes to you and your family!

Thanks guys!!! These really are great dogs. We went down to look at 3 of them and I think if we would have had the money, we would have brought all three home. haha! Qahog, if you're going to check them out, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Oh, and thanks, Random for that link!!
We got back Friday night and spent the weekend getting this little guy settled in. My wife calls him my shadow. He follows me every step I make. Never more than a couple of feet behind. Except when I was in the pool yesterday. He acted like he had never seen me before in his life. Apparently, he does not like the water and has no desire to get anywhere near it. I called him and suddenly everything around became extremely interesting. Birds flying over....the patio furniture...Ignored me like a pro. "rlol"

As you can tell by the picture below, he's having a horrible time adjusting and feeling comfortable around us.... :biggrinjester:

I would love to have one, but I stick to cats. If I could figure out a way to make one of them little doggies use the litter box, it might be a different story.
I live alone and am generally away from my house a minimum of 12 hours a day. It just wouldn't be fair to a little doggie to be left alone all day like that...my cat on the other hand seems to prefer my absence.

Pretty darn cute... ...but is it me, or does he look like an Ewok?

It's you, TAM. Ewoks look more like Cairn Terriers.
