Boy's hat violates zero-tolerance weapons policy

Plastic guns don't kill plastic people, plastic people kill plastic people.

Actually, when you think about the absurdity of it, then a pencil, pen or other 'sharp' object violates the 'no weapons' policy.

These people are from the shallow end of the liberal gene pool.

In large part, we can thank the government sponsored various teachers' unions for this, and other, education travesties.

The only question is whether the administrators are unable to think or just unwilling.

all is well that ends well. The little guy got an award and was made to know that he did something good not something bad by making his hat to honor our military. Maybe the people who decided his hat wasn't appropriate are eating a bit of crow right now, I sure hope so. Made them look like fools. Goody, goody. Kudo's to the radio/tv show for airing this.

Although I don't have a lot of faith that they put a lot of thought into anything, I really believe this litigious society in which we live and operate gives a lot of incentive for folks to create zero-tolerance policies and decisions out of an unwillingness to think & act critically. In spite of how ridiculous it makes them appear, at least they don't have to worry about being sued and having to back up their actions with reasoning and logical thought!
