Back when we had a motor home, I spent a lot of time on the MH forums. IIRC, the consensus was that rest stops are popular with BG's. I'd never overnight at a rest stop if I had a choice. I'd also encourage them to add a shot gun to the arsenal.

Her license came in last Saturday 37 days from the day we sent it in. :anamatedbanana I asked her if she wanted to go shopping and she suprisingly said no I want that cute little one in your pocket (KelTec P3AT) I told her I would love to buy her one but I would like her to shoot it first. So we went to the range, she loaded it up (slide was a little tight for her to rack but she did it well) and fired 6 rounds. I was sure suprised that she didn't look at me and cuss for it being so snappy but she didn't. She run about 40 rounds through it, loaded it up with hollow points put it in the pocket holster and dropped it in her purse. She said "I'll just keep this one." I am very proud of her and she is excited to be a legally armed woman.

Now, What do I want to replace the P3AT with????????? :evil2: :fire ... I get to go shopping, I get to go shopping, I get to go shopping (singing as I hop and skip to the gun store). :woohoo

My mom and dad are gone about 4 months out of the year in a high dollar motor home (two grey hairs in a rolling house that costs more than my 4 beadroom house!!). I told her straight out...you guys are a target. While they travel, they stop at rest stops and truck stops also.

Mom gets it, and wants to buy the Taurus Public Defender composite (I like her taste in guns). She said she did not care about the size, as she has a big purse.
Honestly you should probably steer her to another choice for a self-defense weapon. There are better choices using pretty much any criteria.
