Still Waitn, 1st ph call to dps

Post by scooter03 »

Yes I know I'm supposed to wait the days for the PIN but, I just needed more to keep me from looking in the mail box everyday like a kid on Christmas morning. I called DPS office this morn, thanks to SW4OVE I got right in and talked to someone within 1 minute, and the nice lady told me that I haven't even been entered into the system yet. She told me that they were approx 4-6 weeks behind in entering in information. Great, that means I will wait that much longer. I went to the range yesterday the 11th and completely destroyed some targets. I needed the well enjoyed shooting. Just wanted to rant, thanks for all the help on here guys and gals.

I'm beginning to believe that this "4 to 6 weeks" stuff is just a canned response. From my days in a tech support call center, its called "call deflection" and its purpose is to get you to hang up and not call back.

When you sent in the paperwork, did you send it certified or return receipt? If so, you should have proof of the date they received it. If you don't have a PIN within about 30 days of their receipt of it, I would suggest pressing them quite a bit harder on this subject.

4-6 weeks behind on entering info. That means since I got my plastic yesterday & the site says Processing app, that I should have a message saying issued, by about Christmas.

.
I agree, it all boils down to 30 days to get entered and 30 more to get mailed. MOST cases work that way from what I have seen in my brief time here.

P.S. Hey your in the area Mithras61, Where do you shoot? DW1117 and I went to SS in Conroe last night, your welcome to come along sometime!

I usually shoot either at SS or Carter's Country. SS is nice, but my son likes to go along & shoot his rifle, and SS won't let him. We just picked up a Ruger Mark III 22/45 pistol the other day, though, so we'll be visiting there more often.

I picked the 22/45 because it holds & aims so much like my 1911 that I can practice with it for quite a bit less $$ than with .45 ammo. I still plan to shoot the 1911 to remember the recoil, but .22 rounds at $.03 each are a lot cheaper than .45 rounds at $.24 each.

Do you have your next trip planned yet?

Yep, i mailed it certified with receipt and they did recieve it two days after I mailed it. I believe sept 8 on a friday. which makes today the 35th or so day. It irritates me that they cant tell the truth. DPS sure gets upset at us when we get stopped by them and we dont tell the truth. LOL thanks everyone
