Al Sharpton: 90% of my callers support McD decision

Post by ELB »

I really have no use for Al Sharpton, but this is pretty amazing (and funny):

(my emphasis)
SHARPTON (4:52): I would say 90% of the calls I got yesterday were in support of the Supreme Court and people say they want to bear guns. They’re tired of the violence and it’s very very interesting. I have had a few on both sides today, but yesterday was overwhelming, it was stunning to me.

I just told Attorney Lou Meyers, lady stopped me last night; I did the commencement address at Boys and Girls High. She said I listen to your show Reverend and I want you to know I’m saved sanctified through the Holy Ghost, but if they come in my house I’m going to drop them right where they stand. So, and she looked like she was in her eighties.

After listening to the actual recording several times, I slightly edited the transcript above. Didn't change the meaning.

Lots and lots of people on the left get it. Unfortunately, few of them are in top media mouthpiece positions.

I listen to quite a bit of liberal talk radio, as well as conservative talk radio. Whenever the subject of gun control comes up on liberal shows, only 1 out of every 10 callers or so is pro-gun control, and every time, the liberal-usually-pro-gun-control host is SHOCKED that so many of his regular, liberal listeners are pro-gun, or at any rate, anti gun control.

Gun control isn't directly Left or right.
Ronald Reagan supported gun control.
We can never assume a that a democrat is anti gun or a Republican is Pro. because of party affiliation. Although I've never met an anti-gun Libertarian.
Democratic elitist tend to be antigun.. but I wouldn't concider Al Sharpton an elitist.
