Here are directions to the PSC Shooting Club, Inc. range on FM 528 in Friendswood, TX. I'll give two routes and you can print a map from http://www.cottonfamily.com/psc-idpa Just click on the "Map" button and be patient. It's a rather large bitmap file.

I-45 South Route (from downtown Houston):
I-45 south to the NASA Road One/FM528 exit.
Turn right on FM 528 (a/k/a Parkwood in Friendswood) and go approx. 8.5 miles to the PSC entrance.

A 1,200' red and white antenna tower stands next to the PSC entrance road. The last traffic light you will pass on this route is at the intersection of FM 528 and Lundy/Moore Road. The entrance to PSC is a short distance away, immediately past the bridge over a canal.

Sam Houston Toll Road Route (coming from from Hwy 59):
Sam Houston Toll Road to the Telephone Road (a/k/a Hwy 35) exit;
Turn south on Telephone Road/Hwy 35 and go to FM 528;
Turn left on FM528 and go approx. 1.5 miles to the PSC entrance.

While on Hwy 35, if you happen to see Moore Road on the left, take it and turn right on FM 528 (a/k/a Parkwood) and you'll save a couple of miles. Unless you know where it is, most folks miss Moore Road, so that's why I just assume you're going all the way to FM528.

The Q&A session is the real unknown, but I suspect Derek and I will take about 2.5 hours, not counting questions.

There are several places to eat within 3 miles and we are going to let the group decide if and when to break.

Sorry I didn't make it. I already called Charles and told him, but for the others, we had friends roll in at midnight last night, so I was under some pressure to stay longer, and wouldn't make it out in time to catch anything. Though I missed it, I hope it was a great time.

Not to continue the thread indefinitely, but I also appreciated the time everyone took to come out and discuss these issues.

There was a question on legality of carrying OC/pepper spray since "chemical dispensing devices" are prohibited under PC 46.05. We'd even reviewed a "2001-2003" (I think) book on CHL (and related) laws, and I couldn't find the passage describing the definition of a "chemical dispensing device" that I knew I'd seen before.

After reviewing a more recent (2003-2004) issue of the same publication, I DID find the relevant passage (emphasis mine), under PC 46.01 (Definition of "Weapons"), section 14 describes "Chemical dispensing device" as "a device, other than a small chemical dispenser sold commercially for personal protection that is designed, made or adapted for the purpose of dispensing a substance capable of causing an adverse psychological or physiological effect on a human being"

In non-legalise -- small OC spray canisters are NOT prohibited for carry under PC 46.05.

I'll also post this is a separate thread to ensure others (who aren't following the thread on the seminar) can see/review it.
