Fear, anger, hatred, and greed. The devil's all-you-can-eat buffet.

If it's going to the boneyard anyway, why not. It's a great idea and didn't cost HPD anything, and cheaper for the government than maintaining at the boneyard.
I love the sound smell of jet fuel in the morning.

I wanted to get a fuselage to use in a scenario for one of the six Texas State IDPA Championships we hosted at PSC. But we thought we might draw some attention if we asked for one to practice shooting!

And me, being the aviation nerd that I am, my first thought after reading the title was: I wonder if it was a 200 or 300 series...

From the picture it's a 200 series. The old stovepipe engines, a dead giveawayLefty Writer wrote:And me, being the aviation nerd that I am, my first thought after reading the title was: I wonder if it was a 200 or 300 series...

After actually reading the article, I figured it was a -200, just based on when it went into service. There are still lots of -300s flying, especially with WN.
Slightly off topic, but do you ever hit the airliners.net forums FL450?

Re: Houston: HPD gets airworthy Boeing 737 for training
I don't care one way or the other, but the prospect of HPD having a team to enter a hijacked airliner in Houston, rather than a federal agency, seems rather remote. I could really get behind the idea if they would let me come and play too.

Maybe a unwanted person on board(slipped thru TSA or made a comment) that HPD would make a response to.

Re: Houston: HPD gets airworthy Boeing 737 for training
The article says it doesn't cost anybody anything, but it does cost the taxpayers the loss of the income if the government sold it as surplus.
This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.
Re: Houston: HPD gets airworthy Boeing 737 for training
It might if anyone wanted to buy an old, obsolete plane that has been through who-knows-what.

Once it goes to the boneyard it cost more to mothball it than donate it. Donating it saves the taxpayers money.
