NYT lumps Appleseed with militias

Post by A-R »

Highly questionable article (I'm being nice) ....

Even The Times should be better than this.

Remarkable stretch in just two paragraphs to link Appleseed to the quotes from unaffiliated public figures. And throughout the article, great strives are made to link extremist militia types to Appleseed, even though their association with the group is tangental at best. And of course Dailey, the founder, specifically denies a "militia" mindset is the intent of the group.

Amazing how far the liberal mouthpieces in this country will go to link anything having to do with their scary buzzwords - "guns" "liberty" "founders" "patriot" - to a mass right-wing conspiracy.

Anyway, it's a long article but worth reading 1. so you will be informed of the Left's latest propoganda and 2. so you can learn a bit about the group by reading between the lines.

I have not personally attended an Appleseed event, but plan to. And another forum member who has attended raved about it and showed me some of the basic rifleman techniques he learned. Seems a worthwhile event as soon as I can find a free weekend.

People who write and think like the NY Times writer are ignorant of history. The only chance you ever have of changing them is to educate them. It seems like the Appleseed project is doing just that.

Those who don't understand that the 2A protects us from our own government have never read the Federalist Papers or any of the writings of our founders. To them, resistance to government is a bad thing. It's sad that we've gotten to this point, but projects like this one might have a chance of turning the tide. Americans need to understand that we exist so long as we are armed. The moment we lay down our weapons, America disappears, replaced by tyranny.

That's not a legacy I want to leave my grandchildren.
The Constitution preserves the advantage of being armed which Americans possess over the people of almost every other nation where the governments are afraid to trust the people with arms. James Madison
