First day out

Post by budroux2w »

Well I got my plastic yesterday and today after work was my first trip out. Stopped by cvs and walked around there for a bit. My wife did say I was acting funny and I agree. I felt funny, mainly hoping I didn't blow cover. Next stop was Tom Thumb. I was better there but still not 100% normal. We came home and ate. After that we set out to meet an old friend we haven't seen in about two years out at the cheesecake factory. We walked in and got seated. I differed from my normal Friday night coors light and got iced tea instead. We had a seat at one of those long booths with tables against it. We were comfortable and at this time I'm doing much better. I'm starting to forget it's there and remembering that I'm legal. We leave and head home. I make the firearm safe and welcome myself home.

Tomorrow it's a hair cut, visit the grand parents andprobably some shopping around.

Things I've learned today. Give it time and you'll forget it's there. I'm not 100% yet but I bet I will be soon. 2). No one is looking for it. I felt followed and stared at. I wasn't. 3) grapevine and southlake are safer now.

Dude, PUCKER and I are talking about getting together for a cold soda or a range trip sometime soon. We're both in Grapevine. If you want to do your Wally Walk with me along, PM me. I'll come along and provide overwatch.

I'll bring the camera. (You just have to search some of the previous "Wally Walk" threads to get that one. Mine is in there.)

A Wally Walk with a chaperone... sounds like a precedent could be set here.

There are several of us close by. TAM, AndyC, myself, Joe817.....picture a virtual invasion of a Walmart......all of us hovering around, keeping our eyes peeled for miscreants, protecting our new friend. It would be a BAD day at Walmart for a BG, I assure you......A group meet at the range wouldn't hurt my feelings, either. Maybe I can convince TAM to let me put a couple of rounds through his M1A.... :fire

I guess I need to hunt down a Hawaiian shirt today.

I'd be down for a get together.

Ps waiting for a haircut. No bad guys yet.

When you guys get together, I'd would like to join and put some faces with names! Joe817 and SIA have gotten together a couple of times at Winchester Gallery in Fort Worth to shoot and talk. I'm only 25-30 minutes away from Grapevine.

I just hope it doesn't take a turn like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S89GbJodqHo

Yeah, me too! I'm in Bedford and have yet to do a "Wally Walk" with pictures.

My pics are somewhere in here as well. I'm afraid my tie-dye camo shirt isn't much longer for the world, so I'll have to go "Hawaiian".......Thay Youtube video is hilarious.........must have been shot somewhere here in Texas........ :thumbs2:

Seriously, though......can you picture all of us in line at the ammo counter to buy? They'll be talking about it for weeks....What in the world are all the tourists doing buying ammo at once? Is there something going on in Hawaii we need to know about? Gonna be a heck of a luau!!!!

Today was much better. I still felt my arm bent funny I guess to cover what felt like printing but by the end of the day u was unloading a cart full of groceries in a busy Tom Thumb.

It's funny how many more hawaiian shirts you see when you're carrying.
