I wonder why...

Post by flb_78 »

Why doesn't one of the bigger manufacturers produce a factory produced pistol gripped double barrel shotgun?

Why are there only pistol gripped pumps?

I ask this because of the Serbu Super Shorty 12ga and the fact that it sells with a $5 AOW stamp.

I think it would be great to get a pistol gripped double barreled shorty shotgun for a $5 AOW stamp instead of the $200 SBR stamp.

How fast can you reload a double-barrel shotgun?

Look at the price that most people pay for a home defense shotgun. I would guess that the cost of a double barrel would be more that most shotgun buyers would want to pay. It's also very fast to rack the slide to reload.

Im not thinking about this as a carry gun, more of a novelty or load up your own shells for a hiking snake gun.

It could also be ergonomics. It seems like it would be harder to load and reload with a pistol grip. If you really wanted one you can get one customized for not too much money.

The free market has a way of figuring out what people will pay for. Sometimes it is wrong, but rarely.

Look at "cheap" cars. Look at what Volkswagens cost these days ($18-30,000). Everyone says and apparently feels like they pay too much for new cars, but they keep paying for souped-up rides. I get to buy those crates five years later.
