6 weeks to "Processing Application"

Finally today, after 6 weeks of going to the DPS website to check...... the message changed from "Packet mailed to applicant" to "Processing Application".

I am excited!! Now how long do I have to wait for the actual CHL to get here?

Average time from the day mailed in to the day received is around 60 days from what I've seen. I sent mine in today so I'm hoping to have it by christmas. Also, for some reason DPS has been really slow about updating their website lately. I imagine they started processing it about 2 weeks ago. You might get yours in a couple weeks, if everything goes ok.

when did you actually send it in? I know i have waited the same amount of time just for my pin and website says same thing.

I took the CHL class Sept. 9th and mailed everything in Sept. 11th. Hopefully they have already been processing the application and have only just now updated the website.

We shall see.

if you notice, i sent mine in on the 6th of sept and they received it the 8th.

it took them until the 25 of this month to get me my pin. I understand you applied online and got pin first. The only thing is when i called them 30 days after mailing it, they told me they were 4 to 6 weeks behind. I know that is just what the normal answer is. But just wanted to let you know we on the same page of the book. Where did you take the class and have you been practicing? Good luck on your wait.

I took the class at the Texas Handgun Academy on Plano Road in Dallas.

My wife did not apply on line. She got her pin number yesterday. We checked her application and her information is the same as mine..."Processing Application."
