Interesting story, Smily. Thanks.
But does the kevlar lining (looks like only one layer) protect against stabbings? I don't think so. LEO bullet proof vests usually do not stop stabbings. All the chap demonstrated was slashing by a razor blade knife. I wonder how long a blade Brits can carry?

Jesus said, "And the one who has no sword must sell his cloak and buy one." (Luke 22:36 NET) Also, Jesus said, "When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own homestead, his possessions are undisturbed"(Luke 11:21 NAS)

TXlaw1 is correct - a single layer of kevlar will not protect against stabbings.TXlaw1 wrote:Interesting story, Smily. Thanks.

British law prohibits carry of pocketknives with cutting edges over 3 inches - but that has little practical impact on behavior.

Re: People wearing Kevlar in london
Back when I was a fencer, we wore ballistic sleeves under the fencing jacket
that would protect against a broken blade. Even though the weapons are
blunted, a broken tip reveals a sword not too much unlike what they actually
used back in the day.
I believe it was a ballistic nylon sleeve / underarm protector though, not
kevlar.
