Police supply stores in Dallas area?

Post by Grog »

Thanks to a thread here, I now know of Dallas Public Safety Supply (was listed as DPSS but Google came to the rescue).

Are there any others in the DFW area?

GT is coming to Dallas, they are VERY popular here in Austin.

Per their Facebook Fan page:
http://www.facebook.com/gtdistributors" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

12610 Perimeter Dr Dallas TX
"DFW fans- We under construction on our GT Dallas location now. It will be located at 12610 Perimeter Dr Dallas TX. This is near the intersection of 635 and Shilo Road. We estimate an opening date of early November. The showroom will actually be a little larger than our Austin showroom and will include a 36+ person room... for training classes. This will be available for local agencies at no charge. "

I went to the GT in Austin yesterday and they had good prices on big variety of items. I would def. go there again. If it can wait until they open, I'd see check them out in Dallas.

I'm aware GT is coming, actually was in the parking lot looking at the building less than three hours after the announcement on facebook and Twitter.

I was mainly thinking of a place I could go to now to look for odds and ends, anything I might need I'll likely have long before the new store opens.

I don't know of any that I've been to personally than. I don't know if you're looking for recommendations from other people or just want locations. I google searched "law enforcement gear Dallas" and got a few locations. I don't know if that helps but it was worth a shot.

Are you law enforcement or private security? If so GST has two locations, one in Grand Prairie and the other in Dallas. Google GST public safety supply to find addresses. But you have to have an ID card or badge showing you are in one of these fields to be admitted. You might also check out C&G wholesale in dallas. Aside from DPSS those are the only cop shops I know of :patriot:

It's not really in Dallas but if you live up NE it might not be too far for you.
There is a place in Van Alystine called Cop Stuff.

I've been looking at some of the 5.11 pants online and saw that this GST Public Safety place is supposed to have them. Is it true that they are not open to the public? If they are open to the public, does anyone know their hours? I don't see their hours or whether or not they are open to the public.

Based on a email I received from them a few weeks ago much less is now available to the public as they focus on their core customers.

I think Saturday hours are 9a-2p...

Most AR items are back ordered with unknown delivery.... At least that's what Austin store told me.

*mags over 10 rounds are restricted to only LEO with creds or agency letter sucks for me because of my "security officer status" I can't even have my glock mags placed on back order...

Thanks. I'm interested in the 5.11 pants. They are supposed to have them and I'd like to try on a pair before I buy.

I wear standard 5.11 tactical in the winter and the taclite pros in the summer. I bought 2 pairs of each last week.

I was in the Dallas store last week and picked up two 30 rd AR-15 PMAGs at $14 a piece. There were other mags on the shelf. I am not an LEO.
