Have y'all seen this? I love it.

I used to be a truck driver and spent some of that time runnning Texas regional (mostly Texas with occasional jaunts into bordering states). I really relate to this video.

I like that. I need to start taking more pictures.

Saw some familiar places. Sure makes me realize how little of my home I have seen in 53 years....Roadtrip!

Thats great!
Just imagine how long it would have taken to include ALL the cities in the state.
I like how he had even the smallest cities in there too like Krugerville and Cut-N-Shoot

Re: I've Been Everywhere (In Texas)
I was a professional musician in my teens and twenties, and have traveled all over the world. However getting my professional start in Texas, I can honestly say I have been to all of the places in that video and many more. Most of those places I've been to multiple times. Texas has some of the most (and mostly taken for granted) beautiful landscapes in the US.
I'm glad you posted this video. It sure brought back some my favorite old memories of traveling through Texas and dreaming of making it big
Thanks again for posting this video.

Re: I've Been Everywhere (In Texas)
I got to looking around you tube and there are several videos, similar to this, where people have pics of every town named in that song.
Truck driving got my foot in the door at several sound companies when I moved to Dallas.
Listen, kid, I got a stack of resumes an inch thick from wannabe soundmen and I never look at 'em. But you can drive a truck? We can always use someone who can drive the truck!
I thought I was a bass player but I never made any money as a musician. I did earn my living as a soundman for a few years. Between that and the truck driving, I've been to all but a couple of those places.NOS wrote:I was a professional musician in my teens and twenties, and have traveled all over the world. Every time I started thinking I'd been to every town in Texas, I'd see a reference to another one I'd never heard of. They seem as countless as the stars in the sky.MedicMan218 wrote:Just imagine how long it would have taken to include ALL the cities in the state.

Even Baytown got a mention. that was quite surprising.
I also happen to have a picture of my wife and I on the front porch of the "post office" in Lukenbach.

I didn't see or hear any mention of San Antonio in that slideshow/song. Plenty of places all around it but not SA itself. If I missed it, please give me a hint where it was.

We are headed out on our west Texas trip Fri morning. 3 days in Ft. Davis with stops in Brackettville and Del Rio on the way and Sonora nd Comfort on the way back. Might detour to Cabelas in Buda too. Anyone know much about it?
Re: I've Been Everywhere (In Texas)
Didn't hear San Marcos, Wimberley, or Gruene either. Though I think I saw a pic of Gruene Hall.

Re: I've Been Everywhere (In Texas)
Thanks for a really neat video; however, I think Hank Snow did a better job with the song( many moons ago). Neither the song nor the video was about the beaten path through metro areas.glbedd53 wrote:We are headed out on our west Texas trip Fri morning. 3 days in Ft. I've only been in one Cabelas' and that was the one in Buda. I don't know what I expected but I was disappointed. Lots of stuff to look at and feel; however, it struck me as overpriced. The area's road construction was encouraging, somebody has a job.
Drive safely, good luck and God Bless.
