Hospital Funny today

Post by RPB »

Last week I posted that I took my sis-in-law to a local hospital, which years ago had a 29(ee)) sign on front and side entrances, but I haven't gone to those entrances in a couple years. They currently have no 30.06 sign on ER entrance, only "NO SMOKING" signs.

That hospital transferred her to Round Rock Seton and they had a huge 30.06 sign.

What I want to share is a funny experience today:

Today I took my brother to a hospital between Burnet and Mason, Texas, so I carried my Wilderness Safepacker, in case I needed to leave it in the car. Signs on ER Entrance = "This entrance closed, use other doors; Floor being refinished." and on Front Entrance "This is a tobacco free, smoke free campus"

Ok, no 30.06 sign, here's where it gets funnier:

I'm waiting in the waiting room, guy with hospital employee badge walks through .... in a Hawaiian shirt .... I almost started laughing, I decide to take a walk outside because hospital is freezing.

I notice ALL the houses facing the hospital on at least 2 sides of the hospital ALL have signs "No Handguns allowed" and a gunbuster sign.... One house has an Ambulance plugged in to electrical box ... I figured ok, hospital must own these houses. One house is vacant, has sign "For sale or lease, Commercial Property"

But One house had, besides the "no handguns allowed gunbuster" a sign I loved ... it is below:

This is very strange. Maybe they are owned by the hospital and are clinics or something?

Yeah was real strange, must be something like that, all the houses had the exact same no handguns gunbuster sign too, probably all bought/posted at the same time. Either hospital owned or they re-zoned to commercial and the homeowners sold/leased to doctors or clinics and the local ambulance company etc. ... Flower/Gift shop needed in that vacant one.

Maybe this house is actually a therapist's office and he specializes in treating patients with alektorophobia.

Austin County (Sealy) EMS is in a house on a residential street. It is actually a nice place for the crews. The ambulance sits outside on the "driveway".

Since I still carry the scar from a Rhode Island Red rooster, I can attest to the need for a warning sign. (As far as i'm concerned chicken should come wrapped in plastic, already deboned :evil2: )

I understand Tess. My Grandma had chickens, and she had one ol' BIG rooster that was super mean. i was about 4 years old and I swear that rooster was as tall as I was. It scared the daylights out of me when it tried to flog me. Luckily it didn't spur me, but I steered clear of her chicken yard for a lot of years (at least until I was big enough to wield an ax and get one for dinner :evil2: )
