Browning .308 Lever Action

Post by lonewolf »

Has anyone here had any experience with this rifle? I saw a couple at the gun show and became interested.

Not really, but most of the great early Winchesters are JMB's work so I am certain that this is a good one.
How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

I don't think the Browning BLR is a JM Browning design; his box magazine-fed lever rifle design is the Winchester 1895.

I almost bought one many years ago in that caliber when I was frustrated by trying to find a left-handed bolt gun at a price I could afford. Also, I wanted a box magazine rifle so that I wouldn't have to worry about bullet design in a tube magazine, and I wanted something with more grunt than a .30-30. A friend of mine said, "why not take a look at the BLR?"

Even though I now own a really nice left-handed Remington 700 in .308, I'll still probably buy a BLR some day.
