This is what happens in Colorado.

The burglar who was shot and wounded has hired an attorney to file a civil action against the 82 year old homeowner.

Outrageous. I sent an email to the DA's office protesting this.

What is happening to our country when a man can't even defend himself against someone, not to mention against two people who shouldn't be in the country in the first place. Is being an illegal alien now a protected class?

People need to get involved. Start going to government meetings. Pay attention to your local races. If things continue down the path they're going, we'll all have to choose between standing up and fighting or living on our knees. I know which choice I'll make.

I'd be willing to bet that if you could talk to the DA off the record, he/she would admit to an anti-gun bias and that the purpose of this case is to "send a message." I've had discussions with a couple of Liberal/Progressive types who don't see anything at all wrong with illegal immigrants, think that those with criminal records just had poor childhoods or are down on their luck and absolutely hate anyone who owns a gun.

They are the same types who think that the repeal of Prohibition was a mistake. They are a small but active voting block and when reasonable people don't vote, they can get DAs like this one elected. I'm not sure how some of the CA type Progressives managed to take over pockets of CO, however.

Do you really need to ask?

I remember once talking to an attorney who mentioned that in cases where a bad guy is shot, it's much harder for the next of kin to win a civil judgment than it is for the wounded bad guy.

I for one, would be afraid to lunch with Andy. He might call me out on things I just don't want to hear. :evil2:
