Advice on new service boots

I am in need of some new service boots. I am tired of the "issued" boots and need something that is comfortable and durable. In the links below you will find the three boots that I am looking at. If any of you have any personal experience with any of them or know anything about them I would really appreciate some info so that I can make an educated decision. Thanks!

Well I own a pair of the 5.11s which I actually bought from the 5.11 website. I bought them on killerfly128's recommendation, and I have no regrets. They are extremely comfortable for a boot. I'm old and fat and have wide, flat feet, so I'm picky when it comes to shoe choice. These fit me well. That said, I haven't worn these boots all that much because I bought them just before it started getting hot for the summer, so I don't know how well they will hold up over the long haul. They breath well for a boot too, but it is still too much coverage for a hot day, for me anyway. YMMV. But if I can get out deer or hog hunting this year, these are the boots I'll wear.

I don't know anything about those boots, but I can tell you that quality arch inserts that fit your feet and well-chosen socks can make a massive difference in boot comfort. I get both of mine at REI.

5.11s are comfortable from day one. Easy on and off. Some people complain about the arch, but you can get inserts if that is a problem. Their being waterproof with a zipper on the side is also a plus. Stable footing on flat and wilderness footings.

I have worn the 5.11s everyday on duty since December of last year and they are the most comfortable I have worn to date in the last 28 years. Pretty good promo going on right now too.

Agree on all points except the "waterproof" part. Mine have a couple of small grommeted vent holes in each boot, above the sole, along the arch of the foot. See the picture:

I go threw lots of boots at work and have tried so many types. from redwings to doc martins. so far ive had the best luck with http://www.justinboots.com/boots/Workbo ... ccf8=65104" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. dont know that something like this will work for you. I will say they are very oil,water and coolant resistant. they also have a great traction on liquild even oil and coolant soaked painted floors.

Thanks all for the advice. I just ordered the 5.11 and hope to have them in the next few weeks. Hopefully they will fit right and I do not have to send them back.

I appreciate the help but I was looking for military boots. I do have a pair of Twisted X work boots like you have in that link that I absolutely love and wear everyday when I am off duty and in civis. I have an odd foot (short and fat) and I can never find cowboy boots that fit. As soon as the leather breaks in they are always too big and the smaller size that I need doesnt come in a EE just the D.

just so you know I have the same issue. I got those boots in 6ee and they were in stock at the justin outlet in fortworth. yes I have small feet. I have to find 7d most of the time to make it work.
