Arizona CHL Kills Two Suspected Gang Members
The intruder who punched out a Chandler man while stealing beer at a keg party picked the wrong victim. The man, who had been attempting to defend his wife during the beer theft, had a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Fearing for his life and under attack, he pulled out a gun and fatally shot two men believed by police to be gang members early Sunday morning.
"People in Arizona carry guns," said Detective David Ramer, a Chandler police spokesman. "You better be careful about who you are picking on."

That is not correct. AZ residents may carry non-concealed without a permit. Concealed carry requires a permit just like TX. It was interesting, though, when I visited my father-in-law, and we were both carrying (he concealed, me unconcealed). We were stopped by the Border Patrol in a wilderness area, and I was getting quite nervous. Not a problem...chefkristian wrote:MedicMan218 wrote:...As much as I love Texas and pride myself on being a born and breed Texan, Arizona is lookin pretty good right about now.![]()

Arizona now allows for open carry or concealed carry without a permit as of July 29, 2010.

Re: Arizona CHL Kills Two Suspected Gang Members
Any thoughts on the fact that the guy was at a keg party and carrying a gun?

If there's no prohibition for off duty cops carrying at bars or other places alcohol is consumed, there's no moral or constitutional reason to prohibit taxpayers from carrying there.flb_78 wrote:Any thoughts on the fact that the guy was at a keg party and carrying a gun?

Yeah. Makes me think we ought to be able to legally carry in a 51% location in Texas.flb_78 wrote:Any thoughts on the fact that the guy was at a keg party and carrying a gun?

Re: Arizona CHL Kills Two Suspected Gang Members
Any of the 51% places I have been nobody needs to be carrying. Anybody been to Rockport, Texas. Lots of 51% places, no thanks for legal or illegal carry in those places. Sugar Shack, Alice Fayes, Moon Dogs, Paradise Key, just to name a few. No thanks I dont trust even the legal carries in those places. They are strictly designed for alcohol consumption with the exception of PK until about 9 oclock.

Re: Arizona CHL Kills Two Suspected Gang Members
Nope. Arizona passed "Constitutional Carry" a couple of months ago. You do not need any kind of permit to carry a pistol, concealed or not. Anywhere in Arizona.NavAir wrote:That is not correct. They do, however, continue to offer a concealed carry permit for those that want one for the purposes of reciprocity with other states.
