Wal-Mart Wine

Post by DONT TREAD ON ME »

IF YOU LIKE WINE, THIS WILL GIVE YOU A LAUGH.
Wine at Walmart!

Wal-Mart announced that sometime in 2010 it will begin offering customers
a new discount item...Wal-Mart's own brand of wine.

The world's largest retail chain is rumored to be teaming up with Ernest &
Julio Gallo Winery of California to produce the spirits at an affordable
price in the $2 to $5 range.

Wine connoisseurs may not be inclined to put a bottle of the Wal-Mart
brand into their shopping carts, but 'There is a market for inexpensive
wine,' said Kathy Micken, professor of marketing at University of
Arkansas, Bentonville. 'However, branding will be very important.'

Customer surveys were conducted to determine the most attractive name for
the Wal-Mart wine brands and varieties.

The top surveyed names in order of popularity were:

10. Chateau Traileur Parc
9. White Trashfindel
8. Big Red Gulp
7. World Championship Riesling
6. NASCARbernet
5. Chef Boyardeaux
4. Peanut Noir
3. I Can't Believe it's not Vinegar
2. Grape Expectations
1. Nasti Spumante

The beauty of Wal-Mart wine is that it can be served with either white
meat (Possum) or red meat (Squirrel).

haha nice.

My wife's parents live in a really nice neighborhood and have some VERY snooty neighbors. They got invited to a few wine tastings where everyone brings a wine in a brown bag. Everyone tastes, they vote on whats best and then reveal what they brought. Some neighbors are bringing 150-200 dollar wines to these.

After winning the taste test twice with 5 dollar wine, they stopped being invited to tastings. "rlol"

The snootiest my neighbors get is when you offer them a beer in a can instead of a bottle.....

The drunkest and sickest I've ever been in my entire life was when, at age 15 or 16, I downed about a half gallon of Gallo Red Mountain during a trip down into Baja California. I believe I threw up my ankle bones.

Never again. You couldn't get me to touch a Gallo product with somebody else's ten foot pole. I ain't havin' it. Don't need it.

I was a Lutheran (LCA) in a previous life. It was considered a great honor to have your wine (home brewed) selected for the Communion wine. I was quite comfortable being a LCA Lutheran but BOY HOWDY, some of that wine was bad...even in the tiny shot glasses.

I suspect Wal-Mart wine will be relatively tasty and it will definitely be a blessing to congregations on a tight budget.

Maybe the Walmart wine will come in a can......... :smilelol5:

Edit to add: I wonder if they'll sell it bulk at Sam's? Wine by the plastic barrell? Those with experience siphoning gas should have no problems pouring a jug or two for their friends....

Another edit to respond to TAM: About the same age, but it was Boone's Farm Strawberry Hill and Tickle Pink that my uncle was lacing with vodka for added effect. I spent the entire next day cleaning the inside of his buddy's parents car........
