I suspect Wal-Mart wine will be relatively tasty and it will definitely be a blessing to congregations on a tight budget.
To this day, (most) Lutherans still can't find good communion wine even if a bottle fell on their collective foot. It seems that Mogen David Concord is by far preferred, even in my own congregation (Ugh!). But, in keeping with good German Lutheran tradition, we don't complain, because we get it free!

One would think that if you are meeting the Lord at His table, you could do a bit better than "Mad Dog", but it's a loooong process to impart 'change' of this sort.

Now, back to the merits of wine + possum. Is white really the best choice? Even if it does taste like chicken? ;-)

Pair the wine with the sauce...er.... gravy.

I'm thinking a nice malbec or maybe a meritage.

A nice Chilean red would work.

A malbec might go nice with brunswick stew.
This will only hurt a little. What comes next, more so.
