funny coincidence
So my sister calls me today because she had a virus on her computer (windows suite/Windows defender virus) asking if I could get it off of her computer for her, while researching how to do it (reg virus scans don't work) my wife was talking to her and as soon as she hung up the phone with my sister she went to look at a news article on yahoo and boom same exact virus as my sister (I'm talking within seconds of hanging up the phone). long story short downloaded a free program and got rid of it on both comps (sister brought hers over) so yay.

Yes, I had to do the same for my mother.KC5AV wrote:Malwarebytes?

Re: funny coincidence
Weird. I just tried to update my Malwarebytes and got a "702" error when it tried to connect to the server. Not sure what to do now.

Purplehood,
Per the support forum, (http://forums.malwarebytes.org/index.ph ... opic=10138) you probably have an issue with the application. If it were me, I would do the following:
1) Download the current Malwarebytes installation file
2) Uninstall the version you have on your computer and reboot
3) Install the new one you downloaded.
Alternatively, in Control Panel-->Add/Remove Programs screen (called Programs and Features in Windows Vista & 7), you *may* be able to choose Change and repair the installation.
Good luck...and let me know if I can further assist. I don't do much well, but working on computers and putting .45 caliber holes in paper are at the top of the short list.
