Re: Mumford & Sons
He he he. I LOVE them! (We really need a word in the English language that goes between "really like" and "love.") I thoroughly enjoy listening to them sing. I really like how they build intensity through the songs--the bluegrass inspired folk instruments are awesome. It totally pulls you in. There are so many layers to their songs in that they express universal experiences that everyone can relate to, yet they are personal and raw, and they use classic symbolism and allusions to discuss modern and specific experiences... They are really a whole package deal.
I can't figure out how to embed a playlist. Every one of their songs stands on its own and is superb.

Re: Mumford & Sons
I downloaded Mumford & Son's Sigh No More album from iTunes as soon as Hoi Polloi first introduced us to them. I really like that band. And here's the best part.... When I first downloaded them, I played Little Lion Man for my son and told him about the band. Because it was his old pops talkin' he nodded, half-listened, and promptly forgot about it. Two days ago, he told me, "Dad, you gotta hear this new band - Mumford & Sons! A friend posted the youtube of this great song called Little Lion Man on my Facebook page, so I bought the album from iTunes. This is a really cool band!"
I started laughing and reminded him that I had tried to get him interested in the same band, the same song, just 3 weeks ago, and he wasn't interested. Then I suggested that maybe his old pops had more going on than he gave him credit for.
Old age, cunning, and treachery will overcome youthful enthusiasm every single time.

I like that Woman King song! I'll have to come back to Cinder and Smoke when I'm in a slower and more contemplative mood.

Re: Mumford & Sons
Thank yall! I'm loving the bands down home feel. It's kind of a cross between blue grass, Texas country, and Irish folk... at least in my mind.
(MIGHT want to add a explicit language warning to the title of this thread though. I caught a couple of f-bombs in the first vid. I'm not complaining, but I'm sure someone might be offended.)
Thanks for the introduction! I'm always looking for great music.
