Thinking of signing up and thought I would ask about experiences. Good or bad. Thanks

Yes they are excellent, it's also nice to meet others that are like-minded. After I had went to my first one in Ohio I have been to every one since. They are great for the family too. You will thoroughly enjoy it! :thumbs2:

A great way to spend a weekend. Except maybe in July or August. ;-) We went to Davilla again in June and took two pop-up canopies, one for on the line and one for behind (where you may spend a lot of time prepping mags).

Exceptional training, especially for the price. For less experinced shooters, it's like drinking from a fire hose. Still plenty to learn and apply, even for those with experience. Be prepared to fire at least 400 rounds - and go home with a lesson in humility. But a burning desire to go again.

That was my thought exactly. The wife and I are planning on the late October session in Davilla. That way it won't be too cold or too hot, hopefully. After reading your responses and other info online, I am pretty excited to take the SKS out there and get after it.

A friend received his "Rifleman Patch" recently, name will remain private to protect the not so innocent, slight exageration in the attached photo...... :fire

I plan on trying my hand at this once it cools down and I do some practicing, the patch is not easy to get, kudo's to those who have... :tiphat:

The training received at an Appleseed is worth it's weight in gold.

I Found Appleseed because of this thread, looked like something I would enjoy so I signed up. I'm very glad I did. It was "A great way to spend a weekend" for sure, I learned a whole lot and found out there's alot more I need to learn. I got my rifleman patch  but it wasn't easy at all, and I attribute it solely to the instruction I was given.

I've been to 2. Scored Rifleman on the 2nd try. Great basic marksmanship training. Be prepared for the weather.. Had very cold weather and high wind when I went to Davilla in Winter 08.

If they ever have one close enough to me I would make a point to be there.

Appleseed is awesome and should not be missed...
for the price ($70) it is the best marksmanship training one can get.
I and my BIL went to millican in '09 and we are both aching to work our schedule to get back.
My Bil is actually trying to convince the admin at his range (BASC in Crosby) to host some Appleseed events...they certainly have the space and can make some money by charging a nominal range fee per day.
