I haven't gotten much traction with football related postings are trash-talk here before. But I thought I would give it one more try!

Go ahead, dig at a purple spot. :cryin

I'm not a big fan of pro football in general, but I do think the Cowboys are in trouble. It's hard to generate enough interest to become a fan, when there isn't much to root for.

Tony Romo's salary: 10/29/2007: Signed a six-year, $67.4 million contract extension through 2013. The deal contains $30 million guaranteed, including an $11.5 million signing bonus and Romo's 2008 base salary. 2010: $8.5 million, 2011-2012: $9 million, 2013: $11.5 million, 2014: Free Agent. (Source)

Frankly, I don't know what the Cowboys see in Tony Romo. I have not been that impressed with him. As for Jerry Jones, I believe that he is far more interested in building an NFL branded empire than he is in building a winning team. I don't believe he gives a rip about the individual fan.

Anyway, so many of the pro players are big crybabies who have no gratitude at all for the blessings bestowed upon them, that the pro game has largely become a big turn-off to me. Once in a while, you get a real blue-collar player with a huge heart - Jason Witten comes to mind - and I love that kind of player. But I have no use for most of the rest of them. They'll make more money in one season that most of the rest of us will make cumulatively in our lifetimes, and they whine about it's not enough, and they don't appreciate what they have. Mostly just a bunch of thugs and wankers who could not make it in life for lack of character if it weren't for football.

The college game is a little better. The high school game is where the fun is for me personally.

Edited to fix Jerry Jone's name.

Cowboy football hasn't been the same since Tom Landry left.

More like since Staubach left.

I agree. Tony Romo is way over-rated IMHO.

It looks to me like the headline will be, "Dallas Picks Up First Win Of The Season Against Houston".

Like that play right there, for instance. Makes a feller want to say.... "In Your Face". LOL..... "rlol"

Hmmmmmmmmm... I am thinking Houston is going to have to settle for three points right here. They don't appear to have what it takes to get the touch down. :bigear:
