Logic 101 From the Australian Shooter Magazine

LOGIC 101

An interesting letter in the Australian Shooter Magazine this week, which I quote:

"If you consider that there has been an average of 160,000 troops in the Iraq Theater of operations during the past 22 months, and a total of 2112 deaths, that gives a firearm death rate of 60 per 100,000 soldiers.

The firearm death rate in Washington , DC is 80.6 per 100,000 for the same period. That means you are about 25 per cent more likely to be shot and killed in the US capital, which has some of the strictest gun control laws in the U.S. , than you are in Iraq .

Conclusion: The U.S. should pull out of Washington

I spent many years living just outside of D.C. in the great state of Virginia, and pretty much EVERYBODY in my neighborhood owned firearms of all types. Crimes committed with firearms in my neighborhood was pretty much ZERO throughout the 15 years I spent there. We could, and did, open carry firearms, and had gun racks in the truck with NO issues.

And yet, 10 miles away, across the Potomac, they had the highest per capita murder rate in the nation, despite their draconian gun laws...

Gun laws don't impact crime. Dead criminals, on the other hand, does...

:thumbs2:
88 day wait for the state to approve my constitutional right to bear arms...

Logic 101 needs to have an Arithmetic 101 prerequisite.
The math simply doesn't work out ..
2112 / 160,000 * 100000 = 1320
usually this figure is presented in per year terms.
1320*12/22 = 720 per 100000 per year.

Edited 1000 per year to the 100000 per year.

Are we including Iraq civilian gun deaths too or just American? Including explosive deaths would else the results against us seeing how that is their favorite weapon
