New CHL and new Member

Post by Griffen »

OK, I admit I've been lurking for quite awhile and like other interests, have learned so much from other posters. I just got my CHL on Saturday and did my wally walk yesterday thru Tom Thumb and Walmart. I did it as much for a test for comfort as much as a test for printing and conspicuousness. Both were acheived without issue.

I took my class on 8/22, sent in my material on 8/23, and got plastic on 9/25.... total 35 days. Not bad. Now we are just waiting for my wife's plastic to arrive. Right now I'm carrying a Herstal FN-9, while waiting for my Springfield XP compact to arrive. The FN-9 is a bit large to carry daily, but it makes a fine home defense weapon when fitted with a lasermax laser.

I'll continue to learn from others on this board, and contribute when I can add value to a thread.

Carry-On my friends!

Welcome to the forum Griffen :tiphat:
Congratulations on getting your CHL :txflag:

Nice choice on the Springfield. It's a great gun that's very reliable.

Welcome Griffen. :tiphat:

Congrats on your license and first carry in public. Be sure to post your location so we know in what part of this great state you reside.

Good choice on the Springfield XDc - I'm a Glock guy myself, but you won't hear me bad-mouthing Springfield - great guns.

Thanks for the welcome guys. I shoot in the DFW area - either at Bass Pro or Elm Fork. In fact, I'll probably be out at EF tomorrow practicing with my 9mm.
