I had the opportunity to move to CA a few years ago, and I don't regret it more every day.

And the rest of the country's taxpayers will have the opportunity to "donate" to California's bailout very soon.

Like I said elsewhere, California is broken. Plain and simple. And it is going to stay broken until it implodes on itself and the people are forced to make some painful decisions they've put off for a couple of generations now.
What is going to happen is that, when the state finally does go under, the California congressional delegation - the largest in Congress - is going to have a massive temper tantrum if Congress doesn't agree to bailing out the state. Whether Congress agrees or not is entirely dependent on whether or not conservatives have the majority.
KEEP VOTING CONSERVATIVE!!! That is what it will take to force Californians to start making grown-up decisions.

If any state could be an example of where the rest of the nation might be heading, California is it.
Jerry Brown was Governor when I was a young Jarhead in CA. He was affectionately known as "Governor Moonbeam". He is totally unpredictable. He recently fought the state of CA for 2A rights and as I understand it signed off as State Attorney General on the last two pro-2A cases before SCOTUS. Yet he is otherwise one of the most liberal people that you will ever see.
While residing in that state, I watched people in my extended immediate family (inlaws) go through the entire public school system and come out with a HS graduation certificate in exactly 12 years with a barely functional ability to write their names and address. And this was not at a school for disabled kids, it was a "normal" curriculum.
In California you are either connected or a Peon. Peon's are good for a Socialist state.

The pimple that is Kalifornia will eventually come to a head - it isn't going to be pretty.

Boxer and Brown, just amazing........!
I don't want to hear ANY belly-aching from that State. If the folks keep voting into office the very people who have helped destroy California, then they will get what they deserve.

They elected Jerry Brown governor, made it easier to pass a budget, and refused to delay implementation of their stringent (and expensive) emissions controls until the economy improves. Californians have nobody to blame but themselves when the state goes down the tubes.flintknapper wrote:I don't want to hear ANY belly-aching from that State. Can the other 49 (or as bho would say the other 57) states get together and kick them out of the union?

Man did I get out in the nick of time. I can't believe they're having another go at "Moonbeam". Brown, Boxer, and Feinstein...all from Kalifornia. I am speechless.

I imagine more than a few moderates and even liberals may be reluctant to increase their own constituent's taxes in order to help another state with problems entirely of their own making. The Annoyed Man wrote: What is going to happen is that, when the state finally does go under, the California congressional delegation - the largest in Congress - is going to have a massive temper tantrum if Congress doesn't agree to bailing out the state. That is exactly what brought me to Texas in 2006. We moved a business here before California killed it off.cbr600 wrote:Can you imagine more businesses leaving California for business-friendly states? The economic problems with Greece would pale in comparison.

One of Ann Coulter's recent columns said the "new face of the Democrat Party" is Jerry Brown!
