Silent Thunder Holster 1911 review

Post by ccoker »

I received a Silent Holster a few months ago and have been using it extensively since then carrying primarily a Wilson Combat Spec Ops 9.

The gun has a 4.5" barrel but I went ahead and ordered the standard 5" model to be able to also test with a full size steel 45.

I ordered the standard clip hook.
As most of you are probably aware the Silent Thunder is a slim Kydex with very thin leather glued inside to protect the gun finish.
It definitely is a well thought out holster that has quality and attention to detail.

It is also tuckable and I have tested and while most of the time I just use a Tshirt over it, it definitely works and the gun is not noticeable.

The holster has an adjustable cant and I have it set to full.
Carrying about 3:30 I basically forget it's there.

In short, I think it's a fantastic holster.

You're right Charles!

I've been using the Silent Thunder since it was introduced. I use it with my 3" Kimber.

Good holster Tucker!

Glad I found this thread on the Tucker holster. Liked it so much I went and ordered it this past Saturday. Got me email this morning and he said I'd have within two weeks. So, I content with a good holster for my new Kimber. Thanks for posting this in the first place as it confirmed my mindset on the holster.
