For Airplane Fans

Post by WildBill »

A friend sent me this link. It has a lot of nice pictures taken during the 2009 Open House at Edwards Airforce Base. It has quite a few pictures and can take a little while to load. Hope you enjoy.

Some great pic there.

I have been home recovering from kidney stone surgery last Thursday and was supposed to be playing harmonica at the Texas Stampede here in Allen a couple of times this weekend, but had to "take a pass" while waiting for "this too shall pass" because i would have had to drag a porta potty around with me. Anyway . . .

That put me home yesterday when we had a bunch of overflights by WWII planes, all single engine fighter size.

The unmistakable, to me, sound of several high horsepower unsynchronized engines woke me out of my drug induced haze long enough to go out and watch them fly over, but I was unable to get a good photo of them, or to recognize them.

I have a bunch of pics I took at the 2005 Edwards show that I'll post a link to.

I thought this was going to be a thread for fans of the movie "Airplane!"

Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.

I remember (really, I do) when the B-52's were first introduced. My family stood outside Carswell Airforce Base in Ft. Worth waiting for the first official take-off. It flew right over us. It was a rivet counting experience! Great pictures.

That's ok, I was confused, too.
