Renewal "Condition" Question

Post by pt145ss »

I filled out the online renewal stuff last night and printed out my check list. I'm requried to turn in a copy of my DD 214 so i can get the discount. I can't seem to find my DD 214 from active duty. All I can find is my DD 214 from the reserves. Will that work? If not, at some point a link was provided to a site to request DOD documents but i can't seem to find it either...and yes i did use the search button...it just does not like me very much. If I must request my DD 214 from active duty....how long does it normally take to get it?

Thanks,

You can get copies of your military records at http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/. It's been a couple of years since I requested mine, but I remember it not taking too long - about 2 weeks or so.

Even though you are reserve (or were) it makes no difference. All members of the military wheather state or federal, active duty, reserve are elligible. Just shoot them the one from your reserve days.
