Do I need fingerprint for first renewal?

Post by Stupid »

It doesn't ask me for the fingerprint after I finished online app.

BTW, it's been a week now, the online app still shows waiting for documents. They took my money right away though.

Renewals do not need fingerprints or photos.

also, as a first renewal- you need to take a training course and then mail DPS the CHL-100 training form. that's why it will say "waiting on receipt of your materials.. or something to that effect." all you did was pay the renewal fee online, you didn't actually renew your license online.

But, can you send new photos if you want? I don't renew until 2013, but the photo I have on my current CHL is horrible (I look like this smilie  ) . I would like to have it replaced when I renew. :headscratch

Yes, you still have the option of getting a new picture on your license. You just don't have the requirement. Although, we have had a renewal or two come back to us for photos because DPS rejected their current license photo.

It was good enough 5 years ago, but not anymore? :headscratch ummm, ok.

Two weeks and it still shows:

"License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page. "

Got my license back today. Total of 25 days including weekends.

Online status still says waiting for my documents.
