The "Florida to become OK Corral" Newspaper article

As the name indicates, this is the place for gun-related political discussions. It is not open to other political topics.

The "Florida to become OK Corral" Newspaper article

Post by Razgriz »

Would anyone know where I could find it? I'm compiling my argument for the speech class I will inevitably have to take, and I don't just want to win over everyone, I want to make sure there is no valid argument left to make against my position. I've seen it before, just can't remember where. :headscratch

Nah, not that one, the one from 1987 (guess I should have specified). I can barely even remember how the title was phrased, let alone the newspaper, probably the NYT.

Because it is in the archives you must purchase the article.

Wow. Written by a guy with the same last name as me. This guy needs to hand in his family name so he doesn't besmirch it further :waiting:

Reading that article 23 years after it was published, I felt a strong desire to send that clown of a writer a breakdown of violent crime in FL for the last two decades and ask him for part II of his article.

If you are trying to prepare for different arguements, make sure to check out gunfact.info. It is a long pdf of gun myths, and their rebuttals.

Somewhere in my archive files I have copies of those articles, as well as follow up articles months and years later that acknowledged the dire predictions were wrong. Even Rep. Ron Silver (I think it was Silver) who was the most ardent opponent of concealed-carry admitted he was wrong. He also said he should never have coined the phrase "gunshine state."
