Praise God, I hope so.

For the past several days, I haven't been able to get this little black Lab off my mind.

Please, someone, adopt her into a permanent, loving home.

Try it from this side and you'll understand my unbridled hatred for people who dump their pets out in the country.

On a brighter note, I emailed my daughter a link to the picture I put in the first post. I think she's already in love with this little girl.

I do understand. At least partly.

On July 13, 2009, I had to put down my companion of 17 years.

A good dog is more than a pet. She's family.

I sincerely pray this young Lab finds a good and loving home.

And soon.

I've been following this thread closely and I'm very happy for this little lab. Here's another good story.

I've got a rescue Lab and a rescue Golden Retriever. Four weeks ago, a Pit Bull cross (Jack Russel, Beagle?) crawled under the fence and did the sad eyed dance. Boo & Scout decided to take her in. I couldn't give her to the Pound or the Shelter, because even the Humane Shelter puts down anything that looks like a Pit Bull. The authorities are trying to quash the surge in "fighting" dogs. She's about 6 months old and 25 pounds, smaller than a full Pit Bull. This dog is the most affectionate dog I have ever seen. She gets along well with strangers and other animals. I went through my Vet and several rescue groups, and nobody wants her.

So... I've decided that anything that loving deserves a good life. I'll keep her. I'm calling her Lilli, which is short for Lillith.
My first choice was Piss & Vinegar, but it takes too long to say. LOL

They showed up and as expected, my daughter immediately fell in love with the pup. They're on their way south now, with a planned stop at PetSmart to buy a collar.

I told her to get the pup her shots ASAP and I'll pay for them. I also advised her to ask the vet about when she should be spayed and I'll pay for that, too.

I'd like to offer my heartfelt thanks to everyone who put out effort to find her a home. The same goes for those of you who offered advise, links, and even moral support. I appreciate all of you very much. You have helped me more than you know.

Here's a pic of my daughter, her SO, and their newest family member.
