The above link is a page from the Washinton (DC) Post newspaper site after I searched by
the term "Hidden Life of Guns."

This is a multi-part series on how LEO's trace crime guns. Straw buyers are the usual way that
crime guns move from a gun store into the hands of criminals.

Of course the Washington Post takes a primarily "anti" stance on firearms anyway, but these long
articles are very informative about the illegal side of gun purchases which are followed by criminals
using them to kill LEO's and civilians.

One of the articles is about how the National Tracing Center in Martinsburg, West Virginia is hampered
by non-computerized gun data, partly due to the NRA's fighting it.

On the one hand, we all know that computerized firearms data would be the key to confiscating our
weapons by the government, so I applaud the NRA for keeping this data on hardcopy (not as searchable).

But a part of me feels badly that people are getting killed by criminals using their guns for evil, but the LEO's
can't do much about it. Most of these killers have had previous gun crimes on their rap sheets, but somehow
they always make it out again to commit more crimes.

Anyone who wants to dig into reading the stories in this series will find a lot of war stories about illegal
use of firearms. There's a lot to cover. That's why I didn't post individual links to ALL the stories in this series.

Some of the guns used to kill people in the above stories: FEG .380; Taurus PT145 (10 + 1 in .45 Millenium) and
a .45 Glock (model not specified).

There are two authors of this series. One is a woman, Ms. Sari Horwitz. I can't recall the man's name.
