Re: Bar in restaurant ?
depends if the bar is Licensed different than the restaurant.
if you see a 51% sign, dont carry, if not, you are good to go.

If the licensed location (the Fridays you're going to) makes less than 51% of its sales from alcohol for on premises consumption as determined by TABC, then you can carry there. Almost all of these chains like Fridays, Chili's, etc. that have a bar make less than 51% of their sales from alcohol since they sell a lot of food. Unlike some other states, Texas doesn't make a distinction about what part of a licensed premises is OK for carry.Jbird5363 wrote:I'm headed up to Fridays for trivia night and it's in the bar area what's the ruling on carrying in the bar area?
Somebody will come up with the one example of the Flingers in West Bodunk, Texas that has a separately licensed bar area that is 51%. Since you're not going there, I'm going to go out on a limb and say you're OK to carry. If you're really worried, you can peak at their liquor license and see if it has the words "SIGN=BLUE" on it. If it does, you're good to go. If you're in Flingers in West Bodunk the license in the separately licensed bar area will say "SIGN=RED" and they should also have a 51% sign posted.
