I recently purchased a RIA 1911 Tactical (match) with the adjustable rear sights
and fiber optic front sight.
This pistol is a pure joy to shoot - the trigger is _so_ much better than my
SW99!!
So far, I have about 600 rounds downrange with no failures at all - all ball
ammo, though.
This model has the ambi safety (which is nice, since I'm a lefty) but the
only complaint I can have is the right side of the safety works its way out
after a few shots and then that lever doesn't engage the safety any more.
I can fiddle with it and press it back in place, but that is temporary at best.
So, I guess I need to find a gunsmith that can look at it and see what to do
to correct this.
Any suggestions? I'm in Lewisville, by the way.
Thanks!
Bryan

Check with the armscor sub group at the m1911 forum.

I have a Tactical and have over a thousand rounds through it. The safety hasn't done that to me.....

My suggestion is to start with a call to RIA customer service.
This sounds like a manufacturing defect that should be both easy to correct and their responsibility.

How do you explain a dog named Sauer without first telling the story of a Puppy named Sig?

Thanks for the suggestions. I will give them a call later this morning.
I have been posting on the m1911 forum as suggested, and someone
forwarded me a picture of what it is supposed to look like.
It looks like the front edge of the safety is hooked under the pin shown,
it is the rear pin that eeks out about 1/8" or so and thus comes detached
from the left side safety lever.
