Looking for some feedback on a holster

Dont know if in right section but here goes.....
I have a Glock 27 with a Lasermax laser in it. I have a Don Hume OWB Holster and I have a Crossbreed Holster.
Don Hume I really like but shows through my shirt ( even though I wear oversized shirts) . Crossbreed I like also but turns my laser on and runs battery down went through two sets of batteries recently.
Can anyone suggest one that has best of both worlds that wont break the bank. I would prefer OWB over IWB ( Im losing some weight but just not there yet for IWB ).

I know a lot of folks really consider cost when buying a holster.
This is OK for a holster to a gun that will not be carried, shot much, or maybe sold in the relatively near future.

I tell folks in my class to take the extra $50.00 more that a really good custom built holster will cost them, & divide that by just 5 yrs. That holster is costing an extra $10.00 a yr. That is less than 3cents a day difference between comfort, confidence in function, (your 2 batteries ate part of that cost) longer life.

My most used holster is a Tucker HF1. Not my avitar, plain, boned, no tooling. Best I can figure & remember, it is almost 10yrs old. I am the 2nd owner. Still going strong. If I pd full price for it today including freight, say $125.00 to my door. That is 3.5 cents a day now & still good for several more yrs. For comfort, confidence in function, long life, never a complaint or worry, High quality gear is worth every nickle.

Now to answer the Q you asked. Never used a lazer or light so dont have a clue who the good makers are. Have you called Crossbreed?

I wonder if my Minotaur would do the same thing. I also have a G27 and have considered the lasermax. Do you think this was because of the design of the holster or because IWB puts more pressure on the holster that activates the switch?

I`m not really sure if it`s the holster or pressure but it`s turning on somewhere.So I did play with holster some first ( I heated it alittle at switch ) so now I need to keep wearing it to see if it runs down this set of batteries.

(I understand you did already after seeing your second post)

I carry a Glock 26, internal guide rod laser, several brands of leather/kydex holsters.

Here's the deal if you have an internal guide rod laser:

The lake down lever switch is slightly longer than the old original takedown lever.

Here's the solution:

Hair dryer and spoon/pencil.

1) examine closely the dimple in the kydex holster ....where the dimple in the Glock is where the takedown lever is.
2) heat it with a hair dryer, push it out a little so it doesn't press in the takedown lever switch.
(This worked on several brands of my IWB hybrid holsters.)

Why it occurs:

The kydex is formed pretty tight for retention, but you can provide a little space where the takedown lever travels and sits, so pressure from pants etc doesn't affect the switch, and still have great retention.

I did it on my Kholster kydex, on my Rob Durham Comfort Carry kydex .... it works.

Don't use a blowtorch or heat gun, a regular hair dryer works great to soften it just a little, and mold that spot out pushing from the inside (careful with fingers, gets hot)

If you did that and it still turns on, examine it again closer, the area to bump out is nearby (took me twice the first time I tried)

Now that you've saved $$$$ buying a new holster, one I wear a LOT is Desantis Tuck This 2 nylon holster, super cheap, not what you're looking for, but adjustable cant and reverse cant, and spare mag holder, pretty cheap, takes a day or 2 to get used to, good Summer holster IWB, but J-clip goes under the belt, nice backup holster for when you carry 2 guns. and .... cheap. (I use Comp-Tac belt with Velcro sewn in, so I put sticky back Velcro on the J-clip too, that goes under the belt.

I carry a 20 round spare in the mag holder, that allows a pretty good cant. (Glock 17 mag with PG-39 +3(9mm) extension )
You could do the same with the full-sized .40 mag, and the PG-39 extension to add two or 3 more rounds in .40

Can't help you on OWB, I have none, I've been IWB since the 1980s. I'm just used to IWB and personally feel I can retain it better if a situation arose.

Ok RPB great info, Ive already done what you suggested. Hope it works out for me. I used some heat and Only heated where the takedown switch in the Kydex is.
When I heated it it came out some then I finished with my fingers ( since I have no real feelings in them anymore )
Im just getting into wearing IWB , Ive always wore OWB so gonna get alittle use to doing so. So far i really like the concealment of IWB.
So Im gonna wear it for the next week and see if it worked out for me.
