Moving to Colorado and need some help.

Well I am moving to Colorado in December and in order to be considered a resident and pay in-state tuition I had to get my drivers license changed to Colorado. My question is what do I have to do to keep my Texas CHL. I don't want to go through the whole process again cause I just got my CHL this year and don't want to pay another $300 for a Colorado CHL. I have heard the term Non-resident CHL and am not quite sure what I need to do in order to get one. Would I have to do everything again or can they just switch my Regular license to a Non-resident license? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1. Get a Texas ID card from DPS, showing your CO address.

2. Submit a change-of-address to the CHL unit, with your new address. Voila, you're now a non-resident CHL.

Change your address on your Texas CHL to your new Colorado address. It costs $25, you can do it online here: https://www.texasonline.state.tx.us/NAS ... essManager

You now have a non-resident license.

If you give up your Texas driver's license, you will have to get a Texas ID card. That will be another $10. I don't think you can do that online, so go visit the DPS (driver's license office) before you leave.
