Texas Ranger Museum

Post by chuckybrown »

I visited the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco yesterday.

I gotta tell 'ya, it was one a fantastic trip. I need to go back by myself sometime, as my son's attention span and enthusiasm did not mirror mine.

The firearms blew me away, particularly the amount of customization that alot of Ranger's put into their weapons. The grips, the engraving....just wow!! One Ranger even the trigger guards cut away from his Colt Autos and Revolvers so he could be quicker to shoot (complete with custom holsters to accommodate the pistols). It's simply an amazing place to spend a couple of hours.

If you're in Waco, spend the $7 and spend a couple of hours there. The way this museum pays tribute to these brave men and women is outstanding!

I agree! I've been there numerous times since I was a kid, and it's still great every time I go.

So, you need a 1911, now?
I simply love the place.

Remember the surveyors chain in the exhibits? Years ago my grandfather ran a junkyard. That surveyors chain used to get cashed in across the scales, miles of it at a time. For awhile there always seemed to be a pile of it somewhere.
