First female superintendent of a military academy

Post by 57Coastie »

Had to take this opportunity to pat my service on the back. Rear Admiral Sandra L. Stosz will be the new superintendent of my alma mater, the first of our military academies to admit females. The USCG now has several female flag officers, including Vice Admiral Sally Brice-O'Hara, the Assistant Commandent, our #2. I understand that Admiral Stosz spent 12 years of her outstanding career at sea, including command of three ships. She also trained on the square-rigger, Eagle, shown as my avatar, as did I.

To give this a lltle hook into the forum, if there are any Coasties out there, if they will look at the bunch of awards on her chest they will see that two of them show that she qualified as expert markswoman in both rifle and pistol.

Perhaps this post more properly belongs in "Ladies ONLY!!," but I am not qualified to do so. ;-)

Indeed it is! :iagree:

I may have known him, as my contact with CGA was longer than for some. Not only 4 yrs as a Cadet, but much later three more on the staff.

Do you mind mentioning his name?
