Pflugerville man cleared in fatal shooting outside his front

Post by hangfour »

Hello everyone,

I don't know if anyone has posted this yet but I was quite interested in this shooting as it seemed to me to exceed the bounds of "self defense". But the grand jury no-billed Mr. Anderson. I was pleased to see this verdict as it shows how much self defense is still honored here in Texas

I think he is looking OK on this one based on the facts as presented in the article.

It was at night and they were likely up to no good on his property which puts it within the bounds of the law as I understand it. Not sure if I would have shot through the window before they had attempted to breach the door but I can understand the decision to do it. Disparity of force is easily a factor in this decision. Then couple in the prior threats assuming they were credible and you've added intent to harm on the part of the mob.

So I guess it would be a BAD idea to gather a half dozen friends and menace people on their property from outside their front door.

Go figure.

I love Williamson County!!!!!!!!!! Safe place, tough cops and reasonable juries

So if he is cleared by the grand jury, does he still have tort immunity?
