Yes, another newbie!!!

Post by Jasonw560 »

Hey, everyone.

Just another newbie here from the Tragic...er...."Magic" Valley. 40 yo old father of twin boys.

I'm in a little awkward situation, you might say.

I don't have my CHL yet. Have to wait until after Christmas. I mainly joined this site to see what to expect when I DO get it, and to get all of those stupid questions I might have answered before I ask them. Nothing I hate more than a newbie who can't read or use the search engine.

Plus, the wife isn't too keen on the idea. I bring it up, all I hear is :bigmouth But, being near the border, it's a responsibility that I need to take.

Anyway, I'll put my two pesos in whenever I get the chance. Glad ya'll are here. Looking forward to interacting.

There are no stupid questions here....just don't ask about CHL badges.

Welcome to the forum Jason. Glad to have you with us. :tiphat:

About the wife issue, you wouldn't be the first around here to have that problem.
I have faith that you'll overcome that obstacle as long as you handle it with extreme diplomacy. ;-)

What? Y'all think those are a bad idea? Aw, man...I even got a 5.11 response shirt to wear it on. :rolll

Seriously, I am trained as a paramedic. I believe badges are only for those who have the proper training. Anything else, and you're a wannabe.

Thanks for the warm welcome.

Welcome Jason!

Glad to have you along. At least your wife isn't flat out saying "no" like mine did for years. The only thing that turned it into an "okay" was the birth of our daughter. After only a year or so she would check to make sure I had it with me. Now, 8 years later she's shocked when I don't have it and asks me why.

I've learned more from this site than you can imagine. All from my Ipad in the prone position. How cool is that!

Wise advise obviously from someone who has been married for a considerable amount of time. ;-)

I've been married 26 years and have yet to perfect that strategy. :???:

Welcome Jason.

My daughter and Son in Law (his name is also Jason) live down there. He is with ICE and is stationed there for the next 2 years. You have every right to be concerned with all of the border trouble going on. As stated before, at least she isn't saying no.

Welcome to the forum. I won the wife over, but it took a while. She had never held a gun when we met, now she has her own. She has not gone the CHL route, but I can hope huh?

Just keep in mind, you are going down this path for the best interst of you and your family. It may just take her some time to understand that.
