Shelters, "Soup-Kitchens", and other charitable places...

Post by Scott in Houston »

Over the next week starting tonight my family and I will be doing a bit of volunteering at various places like the Star of Hope Mission and other homeless shelters.

Are these generally posted 30.06 or not? I know it could vary depending on the group, but was curious what you all have seen and given this time of year, I thought this could be helpful.

If star of hope is Houston, I dunno .... we have AT LEAST 4 such community kitchens, food banks etc around my very small town between Marble Falls and Lampasas, and none are marked.

I wouldn't go to the neighborhood around the Star of Hope Ballpark without at least one firearm.

Agreed. Exactly the reason for my question.
Most shelters fall into that category.

I have no idea, but given the expected demographic I would think they will only have a gun buster sign at best. Or worst as the case may be.

Well, it turns out that we volunteered on the street itself and will all week, so I'm carrying away.

I still don't know about shelters and whether they typically post or not, but I'm guessing most don't.
