I've test fired these units, and the really fast moving OC jet holds together well and lands with a SPLAT. It is pointed like a handgun and will deliver its effects even through face masks and around glasses. A video of the product can be found here.
First question that came to mind when we saw one of these recently: Doesn't this come dangerously close to being classified as a firearm? :confused5
Nope.

For one thing, there's no projectile. It's essentially a high tech squirt gun.

Not so sure about Sabre right now. Carried a Sabre keyring/belt clip type in my pocket the last couple of days. Took it out last night, and the trigger (about which I had some concern) had rotated out of the safety position. (Imagine that going off in church.... )
Interesting fact: I just now went to check on which Sabre we are carrying -- Sabre doesn't have anything on the case except "USA" and the patent!
It is the "3-in-1."

Gaining more experience with the darn things.
Will definitely look at other carry techniques or brands (remember, firearms are unavailable to us most of the time).

Is there an IWB holster for these things?
Life is for learning.
IANAL, thank gosh!

I may just start after reading the posts here !
Never thought about needing or using anything on an unarmed attacker before.
I am a big man and have never been in a position where I felt as though I was at a disadvantage.
I will turn 40 this May and am not what I once was physically, guess it might be time to add this to my ever growing list of "pocket stuff" !

I carry "Mean Green" by FoxLabs for those times and places when carrying something with a little more "punch" isn't an option.

Even though I teach knife defense and fighting (AMOK! and more), I carry Pepper Spray.

Actually put it into my hand just today during an encounter with a "begger" -- no real problem, but it was easy to covertly take it up as I wear it on one of those "key/card reals" hooked to my belt.

Why pepper spray? Just another tool.

Want to defend against a guy with a knife? Easier if he can't see well.

Want to defend against an unknown dog? Probably a lot less trouble than shooting the poor animal.

Does it replace firearm or knife? Absolutely not.

Supplement? Just gives me more options, including the possibility of "laying down a discouragement barrier" as I slip out the back door during a store robbery.

I also recommend to anyone (especially those who train with me), to go view examples of pepper spray being used on Youtube. Take a look at both the foolish and at the Marine & Army examples of the OC 'course'.

You will see how people can 'fight through it' and know roughly what it can and cannot accomplish.

Spray is longer range tool than a knife -- to cut someone you must generally be in range of their knife too.

I used to keep some OC in my car, but it expired and I haven't replaced it.

What do y'all think about the Ruger Ultra Pepper Spray System? Is the strobe bright enough to do more than annoy? What about the alarm? Useful or marketing gimmick?

...I often remember the news story of the Fla lady who was carjacked...she Maced 'em with the cute little keychain Mace...they shot her twice dead center...and she died sitting there...I have never believed in that stuff...wouldn't let my rookies have it in the car...I know most do nowadays, but I've seen too many LEOs get more on them than on the "customer" due to wind or rasslin'...I think Taser is a more effective, more reliable defense...

I keep a small commercially available defense spray made by Sabre in the car and around the house for those times when a less than lethal force option is needed.

Here is the latest model that I have http://www.sabrered.com/servlet/the-190 ... -oz/Detail" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would, but I'd need to start wearing a duty belt.

Between gun, spare mag, keys, phone, wallet, knife I don't have much pocket space left.
