Makes me wonder how it even qualifies as a true HOA. My Condo Association is purely made up of homeowners and no one else. It hires the site management and maintenance.
It sounds to me like your HOA is more of an Investor's group, and that can be nothing but bad with everyone's interests but the actual homeowners being looked after.

It is nothing but bad. They are the company that the builders hired on to be the HOA. They hire everyone without consulting any homeowners. They do everything without consulting us. Its ridiculous. When they send out notes or letters the only people that get them are the gated community but they claim they send them to everyone. This has happened multiple times.

Now THOSE are the type of HOA's that I positively despise. They aren't really HOA's, they are simply the builders means of generating perpetual income off of their initial investment.
