US Senate's top cop: "more guns not the answer"

The Sergeant at Arms of the US Senate has been making the rounds on the cable news networks today and when asked specifically (preset question, I'm sure) whether members of Congress should carry concealed guns in their home districts he flatly states that "adding more guns to the mix" is a not the answer.

If he believes the answer is fewer guns, he should put aside his. He should also encourage his employees to disarm.

More importantly, he should encourage Congress to repeal any laws that give Federal employees (including Federal LEO) authority to carry weapons, and implement a policy prohibiting on-duty carry. They would still have the same Second Amendment rights as any other US citizen on their own time, if they get the appropriate licenses, same as other citizens.

He should also, during his newsmongering, publicly call for the repeal of LEOSA, if he really believes "adding more guns to the mix" is a not the answer.

And by logical extension (Reductio ad absurdum, I think) ...including that division of Federal Government the Department of Defense controls ... oh yeah, the military ...

That happened after WW II when we decided it was more important to prevent "collateral damage" than to win the wars we wage. Sadly, we still dorked that up as it still costs us billions...
